Brixham has several beaches - they are either
pebbles and rocks, or shingle/sand. The main beach - Breakwater Beach
is just around the harbour, the other side of the breakwater - this is a
pebbly beach, ideal shallow paddling for the kids, going out to deeper water
for scuba diving.
THE MARINA
at Brixham is located just outside of the inner harbour, and pedestrians reach
it by walking around the inner harbour through a fairly recently constructed
paved pedestrian walkway. This has opened up the whole area very
successfully, and is the location for some rather luxurious Marina-side
apartments and flats.
THE HARBOUR
at Brixham nestles at the foot of the town, surrounded on three sides by
steeply ascending rows of terraced fishermen's cottages, crowned and guarded
by the old All Saints Church. Understandably, the Harbour must be the
focal point of Brixham. Here you will find the
under-cover Fish Quay, where you can buy a wide variety of fresh fish.

Brixham has a terrific saltwater outdoor swimming pool, right
by the edge of the sea - and its FREE! Its supervised by
lifeguards, and you can hire sunbeds and deckchairs. The
beach is served by a refreshments kiosk with outdoor tables and chairs.
Brixham is located in what must be one of the most beautiful regions in
England - the South West. We are in the county of Devon - and Brixham is
in South Devon. North, West and East Devon are all within an hour/half
or so drive - and all have their own unique ambiance. The next
county, Cornwall, is the home of Lands End, the furthermost tip of Britain, and
again, this is within a couple of hours drive. We have good roads
and
motorways leading from one part of the region to another.
