Brixham is proud to be the home of the Torbay Lifeboats, inshore and offshore, when they are not in use. They are manned by an incredibly brave crew of volunteers. Oft times on a stormy night, as the majority of Brixham inhabitants are lying safe and warm in their beds, one will hear the boom of the lifeboat signal, calling the volunteers to man the boat.
